Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup of granulated sugar
- ¾ cup of brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of cherry Hershey kisses, unwrapped
- ½ cup of chopped cherries (fresh or canned)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Preheating ensures even baking for your cookies.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped cherries and mix gently to avoid breaking them up too much.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet.
- Press a cherry Hershey kiss into the center of each cookie while they are still warm. This will help the kisses adhere to the cookies.
- Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
