Description
Discover the traditional flavor of Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodles. Quick to prepare, yet full of flavor, these noodles are a must-try at Tales Of A Kitchen.
Ingredients
- Fresh Yunnan rice noodles (or any thin rice noodles)
- Chicken or pork broth (for the authentic taste)
- Thinly sliced meat (beef, chicken, or pork)
- Fresh vegetables (bok choy, spinach, or bean sprouts)
- Herbs (cilantro, scallions)
- Soy sauce or fish sauce (for seasoning)
- Garlic and ginger (for extra flavor)
- Chili oil (optional, for a spicy kick)
Instructions
- Prepare the broth: In a large pot, simmer your choice of chicken or pork broth with garlic, ginger, and soy sauce or fish sauce for added depth of flavor.
- Cook the meat: Add thinly sliced meat to the simmering broth until just cooked through.
- Boil the noodles: In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Drop in the fresh ten seconds noodles for exactly ten seconds, then immediately transfer them to your serving bowls.
- Assemble the dish: Pour the broth and meat over the noodles. Add fresh vegetables and herbs on top for crunch and flavor.
- Finish and enjoy: Drizzle chili oil if you like a bit of heat, then serve the dish hot.
Notes
- Use fresh noodles: Fresh Yunnan rice noodles are key to achieving the authentic chewy texture. If unavailable, dried rice noodles work as a substitute, but the cooking time will be longer.
- Customize your broth: Don’t be afraid to experiment with different broths! While pork and chicken are traditional, you can also use vegetable or beef broth for a different flavor profile.
- Add extra toppings: Enhance the dish with toppings like a soft-boiled egg, fried garlic, or crispy shallots for added texture and richness.
- Spice it up: If you enjoy heat, top your bowl with freshly sliced chilies or a spoonful of chili paste.
