- 1 lb chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- Oil for frying
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Coat the chicken pieces in a mixture of flour and cornstarch.
- Dip each piece into the beaten eggs.
- Fry the Chicken:
- Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer.
- Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Make the Sauce:
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, honey, and chili flakes.
- Heat the sauce in a pan until it thickens slightly.
