We just came back from spending few amazing days in Melbourne. It was a short, much needed escapade which left us happy and tired. The best kind of tired. We’re now smitten by the city’s charms, its wonderful food and joie de vivre.
But let me tell you, we missed our cooking and home made clean eating! Yes, we’ve had some pretty dang fantastic food in Melbourne (after all it’s said to be Australia’s food capital), but on most occasions we feel we could have made it taste better, cleaner, leaner. Maybe because we cook with fresh, local & organic produce from the farmers markets?! Or maybe we like our food better simply because we make it ourselves. With love.
I also missed my blender! And all the wonderful, tantalizing treats it spoils me with like morning smoothies, creamy and flavorsome soups, or the bestest of raw, wholesome desserts. Can you imagine I have not had ANY sweet bites while vacationing, except for a banana here and there?! Yup, I was not even tempted to indulge in anything sweet.
Cool fact. First thing we did when we got home was to hit the markets, stock up on fresh fruits & veg and whiz up a refreshing pineapple smoothie to welcome ourselves back to our cozy little nest.
This smoothie is not a breakfast smoothie, nor does it have any leafy greens in it. That’s not because I’m not totally in love with leafy greens (ahem!); we just wanted a sweet, energy boosting, taste buds spoiling, nutritious-exotic-creamy-smooth-whole drink.
Dang, it’s good to be back!
