I’m so happy right now because I’ve cheated my way to making a healthy, absolutely delicious and refreshing juice without a juicer! Do you have a juicer? Do you crave fresh, cold, homemade juices, especially when hot outside? Or inside your body? For me, the answers are no, I don’t have a juicer yet (sigh…sad face), but yes and yes, I DO crave juices on so many occasions! What I don’t crave are the sugars and preservatives that tend to come with store bough juices, that being the reason I never buy them. (applause moment?) If you’re in the same situation and have a blender, be happy and cheat away with me.
I owe this necessity driven invention to Summer, who did not respond to my kind request not to drop by before I get a juicer. She blatantly ignored me and arrived in Perth this week, hotter and more sizzling than I remember her. Well, now I have my guns so bring it on!
To know that this juice is not a juice, as in it doesn’t separate the juice of the fruit from the pulp. It’s a cheater’s juice, perfect if you’re after a fresh, home made, good for you concoction with a perky taste. All you need to do is blitz for few seconds, stick a straw in it (or not) and slurp.
- Flesh of 1 medium small yellow grapefruit
- handful of fresh mint (Moroccan mint if you can)
- 1 full TBSP sweetener of choice (honey, maple syrup) or more if you want
- 1.5 cups water
- 14 ice cubes
- Add everything to a blender and blitz for few seconds.
- Serve with more ice cubes if you fancy.
