Watermelon sorbet

Wish you were here, dear watermelon sorbet.

watermelon sorbetYes, after a day of gardening (at around 37C) nothing would feel more refreshing than this watermelon sorbet we made a couple of days ago. And which is gone. Completely gone. (Sigh) All I can do today is look at the photos, remember the taste, imagine ‘how would it be if‘ and just write about it.

It’s fantastic. It’s fresh and refreshing, cooling yet warm, sweet, slightly creamy and zesty, tonic and oh so summery. It’s packed with high energy fruits that give us power to start the day. Because of the essential A, B and C vitamins, magnesium, manganese, fiber, potassium and all the antioxidants it contains, this dessert is good for healthy blood pressure, a healthy heart,  for promoting a healthy immune system, proper vision and healthy skin and hair.

watermelon sorbetAlso important, it’s very easy to make, with only 4 ingredients. And we can have it even for breakfast. Yey!

To make it, we used:

3 cups watermelon
2 ripe bananas
1/4 tsp vanilla bean extract
1 TBSP honey

We just wizzed them all in our blender until completely mixed and poured everything in an air-tight container. Which went into the freezer for overnight magic transformation. The second day, just before serving, we placed some of the frozen goodness into the blender again, pulsed for few seconds and voila! Sorbet done!

We served with crushed walnuts, dried cranberries, a drizzle of raw honey and a bit of fresh mint. Heaven in a glass, really. We had seconds. And later in the day, thirds. Never enough.

Oh, please bear with us while we talk a bit more about this AAA-mazing watermelon sorbet. You see, we made it again and it tastes even more awesome than few days ago. Or maybe our anticipation and craving is to blame? Nevertheless, it is so super healthy and THE perfect, refreshing summer treat. Please make it. You will be happy you did. 🙂
